About this workshop
Intro to Character Creation This introductory character workshop will cover the basic first principles of developing, writing and performing characters for improv and sketch. Focusing specifically on Point of View, Physicality and Performance. The workshop will also help share tools to more effectively collaborate with other performers by giving notes and joke pitches. No character experience necessary but some training in clown, sketch or improv recommended! (Level 1 at Finest City Improv or similar experience) - Teacher Bio: Cory Peter Lane is a writer, actor and comedian based in Los Angeles. You can see him on Netflix as the beer chugging lumberjack in Stamptown, for which he also served as writer and producer. His sketch trio, Business Casual, has a podcast on the All Things Comedy Network and they recently released their self produced comedy special COWBOYS! available to watch on Youtube. He studied clown in LA and NYC as well as in Etampes, France with the late Philippe Gaulier. He got his start in comedy at Finest City Improv at the ripe old age of 16.
