1. What We Collect

When you use Improv Coach we may collect:

• Account information — name and email address when a coach registers
• Profile content — bio, photo, coaching style, locations, and any other information a coach adds to their listing
• Search data — city or location entered when players search for coaches (not stored persistently)
• Usage data — pages visited and general interaction patterns, collected via standard server logs

Players are not required to create an account. We do not collect personal data from players beyond optional contact form submissions.

2. How We Use It

We use the information we collect to:

• Display coach profiles in the directory
• Authenticate coaches to their dashboard accounts
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, profile approval notifications)
• Improve and maintain the platform

We do not use your data for advertising, and we never sell it to third parties.

3. Sharing Your Information

Coach profile content — name, bio, photo, location, coaching specialties — is public and visible to anyone visiting the directory. That's the point. Account credentials and private dashboard data are never shared.

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform. Each has access only to data necessary to perform its function:

• Amazon Web Services — hosting (EC2), database (RDS), file storage (S3), and email delivery (SES)

4. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep coaches signed in to their dashboard. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

5. Data Retention

Coach account and profile data is retained for as long as the account is active. If you close your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. Coaches can update most information directly from their dashboard. For account deletion or data export requests, contact us at hello@improv.coach.

7. Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data: HTTPS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls on our infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to registered coaches via email. The “last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.
