Oliver Georgiou

Oliver runs SODA Impro and is one-half of Jan & George with Reid Janisse. Specialty course offerings in Toronto and Los Angeles have included: Viewpoints, Mindfulness, and Meisner for the Actor Improviser; DYNAMIC SCENES TOOLBOX through Bad Dog Theatre; The Game In Narrative through The Assembly Improv; and Intro to Viewpoints for Improvisation. As a coach, he has worked with Duck Confetti, HinProv, and other troupes around Toronto. In 2025, he was a featured guest instructor at the Dramatic Improv Festival in Chicago, Le Grand Yes And in Montreal, and the Snow Day Improv Marathon in Detroit. In 2026, he's delighted to be teaching with Bad Dog Theatre, ImprovCon, and Camp Improv Utopia. My focus is on breaking down what I consider to be essential tools for engaging, organic, and fun narrative improvisation. As someone who was always curious about the purpose and focus of exercises and course, I strive to provide that clarity for my students and troupes, as much as possible. The end goal is for you to be able to be fully present when onstage, with these tools being applied either consciously or through muscle memory when opportunities arise. This, of course, takes a great deal of intentional practice, drills, and awkward growth periods. I order to work skills as precisely as possible, I have created dozens of exercises to hone specific skills, which I mix in with existing exercises. Side-coaching in-session is also a method I use to keep scenic exercises on-point.
