Christopher Griswold-Jenkins

I’ve been performing comedy since 1997 and teaching improv since 1998. I came up in the New York improv ecosystem, training and performing at UCB and The Annoyance, and coaching teams from the Magnet, PIT, and beyond. I work with experienced improvisers who want to make clearer, bolder, more satisfying shows. We start with what is already alive in your play: the behavior, emotion, pattern, rhythm, character, and point of view your ensemble can build together. From there, we develop practical tools for decisive choices, useful edits, active backline support, genre, and an audience relationship that lets a show feel surprising without becoming confusing. I’m the founder of Thunderbolt Comedy and creator of Pop Improv, an approach built around attention, emotional behavior, audience connection, and forward momentum. I’m also a former Assistant Director at Emerson College’s Center for Comedic Arts, co-founder of Improv for Life, and creator and host of Improv Discussion & Resources. My coaching is direct, generous, specific, and neurodivergent-aware: clear goals, tailored exercises, usable notes, and room to make the show you actually want to make.
